STOCKBRIDGE, Vt -
Vermont police say the drowning death of a 10-year-old Hartford, Conn., boy in the White River has been ruled an accident.
Police say that at about 1:45 p.m. Thursday they were called to the report of a drowning in the White River in Stockbridge.
The boy was tubing with others when he was swept down river by fast moving water. He was not wearing a life jacket. People with the boy tried to reach him, but they were unable to bring him to shore.
