Lieutenant Gary Passaro

Tolland County Mutual Aid Fire Service remembers Tolland Fire Department Lieutenant Gary Passaro.

On January 18, 1990, the Tolland Fire Department lost one of their own in the Line of Duty during a Mass Casualty Incident drill at the then Tolland High School. Lieutenant Passaro went into cardiac arrest while rescuing mock victims that were injured in the science wing of school. Each year the department honors Lt. Passaro's Service, Bravery, Sacrifice during a memorial service at the Tolland Fire Fighters Memorial located on RT195. In 2010 the RT195 overpass to Interstate 84 was renamed the Gary M. Passaro Memorial Bridge. #NeverForget
